Tenderfoot open water 5th July

For those new to the club:
Tenderfoot is a club that offers sporting activities for people with disabilities in Pembrokeshire. It is organised by Saundersfoot Rotary club and has been running for over 30 years. WBRC has been involved for around 8 years providing indoor rowing throughout the year.
Once a year we take those who can out to row in a boat.
This has been booked for the 5th July but I didn’t post it before because of our race day event taking up so much of peoples’ time.
So that’s a week on Wednesday, starting at 6pm from the harbour.
We need good weather and a flat sea which we can’t book in advance.
HW Tenby: 20.30
As in previous years we will take participants from the pontoon one at a time. We may have 8 or 9 people taking part this year (6 last year) So we might not be finished until around 9pm

Rotary will be putting on an outdoor BBQ for everyone and Mark has agreed to open the Sailing Club bar.
All are welcome to come and help, cheer etc. but as a minimum we need:
Someone to tow a boat round to the harbour and back.
2 people for the safety boat (Andy and Phil have done this before)
Cox (probably me)
Instructor in passenger seat (probably Caroline)
3 rowers (we can swap people in and out)
2 people on the pontoon to help participants in and out of the boat
2 people ashore to help/instruct the participants, put lifejackets on etc. & make sure everyone is safe.
Some people have already indicated that they will help and some will have other commitments on the evening. If you are able to help, please confirm by posting below.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to help. I make it 9 so far which is brilliant. I know there are others who have other things going on

As always the weather is critical for this one. At the moment the forecast is looking okay, but it is still a few days away. We will have to make a decision by first thing Tuesday because of buying the food and letting everyone know.

I am optimidtic that it will go ahead and will post again on Tuesday to confirm

Yes, we are going ahead with this. The forecast for tomorrow is looking good and it should be fairly accurate now.
So, can everyone meet at the harbour at 6pm. If you are going to be a bit late, because of work commitments ot whatever, just get there when you can. If something crops up that you can't make it, please let me know.
