5th July Tenderfoot row
Jun 23rd, 2024 at 10:35am

5 July 2024 Tenderfoot rowing for people with disabilities in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot
Unfortunately, the weather defeated us last Friday, so we are asking for your help once again for Friday 5th July.
HW: 18.40
We plan to start rowing from 17.30
Rotary will be putting on an outdoor BBQ for everyone and the Sailing Club bar will be open as usual on a Friday.
All are welcome to come and help, cheer etc. but as a minimum we need:
2 people for the safety boat
2 people to Cox (probably Jim and 1 other)
Instructor in passenger seat (probably Caroline and one other please)
3 rowers (we can swap people in and out)
2 people on the pontoon to help participants in and out of the boat
2 people ashore to help/instruct the participants, put lifejackets on etc. & make sure everyone is safe.
Rotary plan to have two concept2 rowing machines available and we will require an additional 2 or 3 people to supervise those.
Some will have other commitments but if you are able to help for all or part of the evening, please confirm by posting below. New members, including scullers, are welcome to join in too. It is usually good fun.
Thanks very much.

Thank you everyone, a great reponse once again.

So far we have:
Caroline
Di
Nigel
Debbie

Marja
Angela
Sandy and Steve (all being well)
Jim

Malcolm and Ian from the sailing club.

So we are nearly there, we just need a couple more and the weather to be kind to us this time.

We also have:

Tyenne
Phil Watson later on all being well

The weather is forecast to be changeable all week, therefore difficult to predict., We will have to hope for the best and make a decision on Thursday.

I am really sorry, we have to cancel this again.
The wind forecast is better, only force 3 from the west but there is still a chance of rain, the timing of which may change by tomorrow. My feeling is that it would have been okay but I could be wrong, I often am. I wanted to leave the decision until first thing tomorrow but Charles from Rotary wouldn't agree to that. So there we are, it is very disappointing.

We had 21 volunteers to help which is a proper old Wisies response so thank you everyone in our super club who were going to come.

The next and last opportunity to do this will be sometime in September after the busy period. It will probably have to be on a Saturday because of the daylight.

Thank you once again
