This date clashes with the Long Course swim and several of our members who usually help will be occupied with that but it is the best available date. So we will be looking for some new helpers (lots of).
For those new to the club:
Tenderfoot is a club that offers sporting activities for people with disabilities in Pembrokeshire. It is organised by Saundersfoot Rotary club and has been running for over 30 years. WBRC has been involved for around 9 years providing indoor rowing throughout the year.
Once a year we take those who are able out to row in a boat from the harbour.
Last year we had 8 participants and I estimate the most we will have this year is 11. As in previous years we will take participants from the pontoon one at a time for about 20 minutes each. This could take up to 3½ hours.
We need good weather and a flat sea which we obviously can’t book in advance.

Rotary will be putting on an outdoor BBQ for everyone and the Sailing Club bar will be open as usual on a Friday.
All are welcome to come and help, cheer etc. but as a minimum we need:
2 people for the safety boat
2 people to Cox (probably me and 1 other)
Instructor in passenger seat (probably Caroline and one other please)
3 rowers (we can swap people in and out)
2 people on the pontoon to help participants in and out of the boat
2 people ashore to help/instruct the participants, put lifejackets on etc. & make sure everyone is safe.
Rotary plan to have two concept2 rowing machines available and we will require an additional 2 or 3 people to supervise those.
Some people have already indicated that they will help and some will have other commitments on the evening. If you are able to help, please confirm by posting below. New members, including scullers are especially welcome.

That’s really, really good despite it being long course weekend. We still need good weather and sea conditions and I will post again nearer the day with final details. If I have missed anyone or anyone else wants to join in please post here.

There have been some doubts because Charles who organises the Rotary side of things is in hospital and unable to help, but we now have other people who have stepped forward to do that. Charles is very keen that it goes ahead. It will if the weather is kind to us.

Ian can't make it, Rod can now do all evening

Dave and Malcolm heve volunteered to man the safety boat which frees Phil T up to help with coxing the celtic. We can sort out the other roles on the evening and swap people about.

We are expecting up to 10 participants.

The weather forcast is looking okay at the moment, but it will be more accurate later in the week. I will post on Thursday at the latest to confirm that we are going ahead.
